A celebration of the life and career of choreographer, Margaret C Faust
From childhood, Margaret Cecilia Faust loved ballet, so much so that she made a career in dance her life pursuit. Choreographer George Balanchine once said “I don’t want someone who wants to dance, I want someone who has to dance” and Margaret fit that template well. But Margaret’s passion extended beyond performing on stage to a successful career in the wings as a choreographer, staging full length ballets including the Nutcracker, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, the Emperor and the Nightingale and a Midsummer Night’s Dream during her 16 years as Artistic Director at Rockford Dance Company in Rockford Illinois.
Feel free to explore and learn more about Margaret’s life and career, and share your thoughts, memories and even pictures of Margaret to help this website grow.
